This is a part of my thinking activity & task given by Dr. Dilip Barad.
The Da Vinci Code Novel The Da Vinci Code Movie
The Da Vinci Code Novel The Da Vinci Code Movie
Dan Brown states on his website that his books are not anti-Christian,
though he is on a 'constant spiritual journey' himself, and says that his book The Da Vinci Code is simply "an entertaining story that promotes
spiritual discussion and debate" and suggests that the book may be used
"as a positive catalyst for introspection and exploration of our
faith."
Yes, I
agree with Dan Brown's view on The Da Vinci Code novel is simply &
entertaining story that promotes spiritual discussion & debate.
I am also
agree with second point that the book may be used as a positive
catalyst for introspection & exploration of our faith, we can
understand this point with help of Robert Langdons character. We know that he
& Sophie both are searching for truth of Holy Grail & at last
Robert find out the real location of Holy Grail himself.
“Although it is obvious that much of what Brown presented in his novel
as absolutely true and accurate is neither of those, some of that material is
of course essential to the intrigue, and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman has
retained the novel's core, the Grail-related material: the sacred feminine,
Mary Magdalene's marriage, the Priory of Sion, certain aspects of Leonardo's
art, and so on.” How far do you agree with this observation of Norris J. Lacy?
When we
talk about The Da Vinci Code book version vs film version then the film is not
same as original one because the director changes some scenes and dialogues to
get audience attention. let's come to film The Da Vinci Code director shows so
many things & we can't blindly trust on film version.
About the
screen Akiva Goldsman
Akiva do
wonderful job in this film. He connected each & every point with other
point and retained the novels core, the Grail related material the sacred
feminine, Mary Magdalene's marriage, the Priory of Sion, & Leonardo Da
Vinci's art.
(If)You have studied ‘Genesis’ (The Bible), ‘The Paradise Lost’ (John
Milton) and ‘The Da Vinci Code’ (Dan Brown). Which of the narrative/s seem/s to
be truthful? Whose narrative is convincing to the contemporary young mind?
I haven't
studied Genesis but I can know little bit about the Bible but I have studied The
Paradise Lost by John Milton & The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
According
to me The Da Vinci Code narrative/ narration is better than other two narration
because in The Da Vinci Code characters find out evidence/clue that connect
very well with other evidence/clue. The director of Da Vinci Code use real
location for shooting & when we talk about Genesis & Th paradise lost
we don't know that where is paradise lost & Garden of Even. so, we cannot
say that both stories are authentic or well narration/narrative.
Have you come across any similar book/movie, which tries to deconstruct accepted notions about Hindu religion or culture and by dismantling it, attempts to reconstruct another possible interpretation of truth?
First we see the result scene of 3 Idiot. how engineering students blindly believed in God & students comments:
- Try to broke coconut in the Church
- Try to enter Musjid with bottle of wine
- Hindu lady widow wearing a white Saree
- Christian lady wearing white dress foe marriage
- 3 Muslim lady wearing black burkha
PK movie talk about so many religious & in this video we see that the PK movie mingling all religious.
Explain Ann Gray’s three propositions
on ‘knowability’ with illustrations from the novel ‘The Da Vinci Code’.
Definition of knowability
"Capability of being known the question of
the knowability of the external world — Humanist"
when we
talk about Ann Gray's three preposition on knowability with illustrations from
the novel The Da Vinci Code then we divide this novel into three parts
·
Identifying what is knowable
1. Murder mysteries
- Murder of Jacques Sauniere
- who is the murderer of Jacques Sauniere?
The
beginning of the novel Jacques Sauniere killed by someone. S/he is just a
medium to kill Jacques, other side Besi Fache highly doubt on Robert Langdon
that is the murder of Jacques. Here I'm no revealed the name of murderer. I'm
suggesting you you read the novel & find out yourself, who's the real
murderer of Jacques Sauniere.
· Identifying and acknowledging the
relationship of the knower and the known
2. Identity
- Knowing yourself
- Who are you?
- Who are you?
- Who is She? (Sophie Neveu)
First we
talk about Johari Window
The Johari window is a technique that helps
people better understand their relationship with themselves and others. It was
created by psychologists Joseph Luft (1916–2014) and Harrington Ingham
(1916–1995) in 1955, and is used primarily in self-help groups and corporate settings as
a heuristic exercise. Luft and Ingham
named their model "Johari" using a combination of their first names.
In this
novel Sophie Neveu don't know about herself & she try everything to
find out who is she? with help of Robert. Again I'm not revealed the truth that
who is Sophie Neveu? & What's the story around her. I give you just one
hint that is she the most important character of the novel.
· What is the procedure for
‘knowing’?
3. About Holy Grail
- Where is Holy Grail?
- Original Location of Holy Grail
At the
ending of the novel everything is on their place but nobody's know that where
is Holy Grail but end of the novel Robert find out the original location of the
Holy Grail. If you're excited to know that where is the Holy Grail that read
the novel. We can find out the similar ending on the Bollywood film Drishyam.
